Program History of the MWADRC
2008
- MWADRC Advisory Council is formed and convened for the first time.
- MWADRC responds to official request from EOEA and MRC for LTCOC (Long Term Care Options Counseling).
December 2008
- The MWADRC is awarded funding from EOEA and MRC to implement LTCOC .
- The MWADRC hires LTC Options Counseling staff.
- The MWADRC staff participates in mandatory training, presented by the Commonwealth.
- The MWADRC receives its first referrals for LTCOC.
2007
- The I&R Managers from the member agencies meet for the first time.
- A “mutual intake” form is created and its use between member agencies for cross referral purposes begins.
- Cross training between the ILC and the ASAPs begins.
- Memorandum of Understanding between MWADRC member agencies is signed.
- MOU between the MWADRC and EOEA is signed.
- The MWADRC is officially recognized by the Commonwealth.
2006
- Executive Office of Elder Affairs (EOEA) and the Massachusetts Rehabilitation Commission (MRC) host a formal summit with the ASAP and ILC networks to announce their interest in seeing the ADRC concept piloted in the Merrimack Valley replicated throughout the state.
- The 5 ASAPs (Aging Service Access Points) and one ILC covering the Metrowest area begin meeting and form the Metrowest Aging & Disability Resource Consortium.
- The Metrowest ADRC files its intention with the Commonwealth to replicate the ADRC concept.
